Amusement Park

Asakusa Hanayashiki is Japan’s oldest amusement park, first opened in 1853 (Kaei 6). It originally began as a botanical garden and later developed into an amusement park. The park features Japan’s oldest existing roller coaster, along with a Ferris wheel and various family-friendly attractions that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.
Surrounded by the streets of Asakusa, the park’s unique urban location is one of its distinctive features, with nearby residential areas and shopping streets blending into the scenery. It is within walking distance of Senso-ji Temple, the Asakusa Roku-ku entertainment district, and the Asakusa Nishi-Sando Shopping Street, making it easy to include in a sightseeing route. Inside the park, visitors will also find shops and dining facilities, allowing them to stop by and enjoy a leisurely break during their Asakusa trip.
