ASAKUSA LOVER: New Tourism & Culture Media Platform Launched

Updated: 4 days ago

ASAKUSA LOVER — Message

When walking through Asakusa,

there are moments

that quietly warm the heart.

A smile seen in front of Kaminarimon.

A brief exchange along Nakamise Street.

The lanterns swaying gently in the evening river breeze.

Asakusa has a mysterious power

that softly loosens the heart

and gently embraces both visitors and those who live here.

Cool Japan TV Co., Ltd.

has been appointed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government

as an official “Tokyo Tourist Information Center,”

and operates tourist information services in the Asakusa area.

Now, under the framework of the Tourism Information Center Enhancement Program

promoted by the Tokyo Tourism Foundation,

a new multilingual portal site has been launched

to share the charm of Asakusa with the world:

“ASAKUSA LOVER.”

The name ASAKUSA LOVER reflects

deep respect and gratitude

for everyone who is drawn to Asakusa,

who thinks of it with affection,

and who holds it close to the heart.

And when read in reverse, the name becomes “REVOL.”

It carries the wish that the love held for Asakusa

will gently move this town toward an even brighter future.

Those born in Asakusa,

those who live in Asakusa,

those who visit through their travels,

and those who hope to come someday—

from the moment a feeling of “love” is lit in the heart,

all become ASAKUSA LOVER.

This site is a community-based web media platform,

created in collaboration with local shops and cultural institutions,

with the purpose of sharing Asakusa’s history, culture, people, scenery,

and the new charms that continue to emerge.

It is hoped that the memories and discoveries born in this town

will become the starting point for someone’s journey,

and will lead to the future of a new Asakusa.

It is this kind of circle of connection that is wished to be created.
