Tucked away in a quiet alley of Kaminarimon 1-chome under a welcoming red lantern, Yakiton Takuchan is an authentic charcoal-grill yakiton (skewered pork offal) pub opened in June 2017. The owner honed his craft at Okachimachi’s acclaimed "Ma-chan," inheriting the proud pedigree of Tokyo’s legendary yakiton institution "Akimotoya."
Each skewer is meticulously hand-prepped and grilled over glowing charcoal. A standout specialty is the juicy pork cheek (kashira), basted in a fragrant garlic-infused miso glaze, alongside crisp, slow-rendered intestines (shiro), tender grilled liver, and prized cuts like pork heart artery and gatu-shin.
Beyond skewers, the kitchen serves deeply comforting side dishes such as hearty motsu nikomi (tripe stew simmered with tofu and eggs), refreshing gatsu-su (vinegared pork stomach), and popular kobukuro-sashi (chilled pork uterus). Paired with Sapporo Red Star lager, Hoppy, or Kinmiya shochu mixed with cold soy milk or highballs, it is a dependable alleyway tavern to unwind with authentic Tokyo flavors.
