Hoshiya

Located in an alley just a two-minute walk from Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa, Hoshiya is a cozy dining bar set in a renovated traditional house, featuring creative dishes centered around dried fish and dried vegetables (kanbutsu).

The menu highlights flavorful items like their signature grilled dried-fish skewers and a Japanese-style gapao rice cooked with dried fish. For drinks, the bar offers a wide selection, ranging from its popular house-made Black Lemon Sour made with kokuto (brown sugar) shochu to seasonal fruit liqueurs and over 40 types of whisky. With counter seats and traditional raised tatami seating, it serves as a comfortable neighborhood lounge from daytime through the evening.
