Soba-dokoro Benten

Soba-dokoro Benten

About a 10-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. Located diagonally opposite the Asakusa Kenban (Geisha registry office) in the "Kannon-ura" district north of Senso-ji Temple, this long-established soba restaurant was founded in 1951.

Deeply cherished by locals for generations, the restaurant temporarily closed its doors in March 2024, but reopened in March 2026 after renovating its premises.

The menu features choices such as "Ten Seiro" accompanied by crisply fried tempura and "Hamaguri Seiro" featuring large clams, showcasing perfectly textured noodles and a flavorful dipping broth. It stands as a prominent establishment in Kannon-ura, carrying forward the true history of downtown Tokyo's soba culture.
