Asakusa Mugitoro Main Branch

Asakusa Mugitoro Main Branch

Located by Komagata Bridge along the Sumida River, Asakusa Mugitoro is a historic dining institution founded in 1929, renowned for its specialized tororo (grated Japanese mountain yam) kaiseki cuisine.

The signature dish, mugitoro, combines carefully grated domestic mountain yam with a proprietary dashi broth recipe preserved since its founding, poured generously over steamed barley rice (mugimeshi).

Alongside formal multi-course kaiseki dining, a major highlight is "Lounge Vista" on the 3rd floor. Here, guests can enjoy the popular "Tenku Tororo Buffet" featuring an array of yam specialties and Japanese dishes while taking in views of the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree. Combining timeless culinary heritage with a pleasant riverfront vista, it is an iconic Asakusa destination.
