Located in the "Kannon-ura" area north of Senso-ji Temple, about a 15-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tobu Skytree Line and Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, "Chuka Ryori Asahi" is a Chinese-style diner. McKnown for its long history, the establishment was founded in 1914 and has preserved its traditional flavors in Asakusa for over 100 years, passed down through generations.
The signature dish, "Shoga Soba" (Ginger Ramen), features wavy noodles in a soy sauce broth with a pale, gentle color. Built on a chicken bone base with a subtle touch of pork bone and pork trotter, the soup achieves its piping-hot temperature and a deep richness that tastes almost sweet from a generous amount of chiyu (chicken oil). It is topped with diagonally sliced raw long green onions, chashu pork, and a generous, heaped mound of freshly grated raw ginger.
